The teachers at our Roseville preschool are caring and dedicated to the children in their care, because they love what they do! They are experienced early childhood educators who are well-versed in early developmental theory, techniques and practices. Our Roseville teachers are educated with state standards and use that knowledge to design unique, creative and fun activities in each classroom.

Zach & Lisa Hansen- Owners
Zach and Lisa Hansen, started Growing Brilliant in 2013 with their Rocklin location. Lisa is a credentialed elementary school teacher and also has experience as a preschool teacher and reading specialist. Lisa holds a master’s degree in education and is currently working on her doctoral dissertation at the University of San Francisco. Through her research, Lisa has learned that early experiences are directly linked to academic achievement later in life. She has a passion for early childhood development and believes in promoting lifelong learning.
Zach graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a degree in business and marketing. His main focus is on the operations side of our schools. This allows Lisa to focus on creating exceptional classroom experiences and curriculum with our amazing staff!

Ms. Jenny- Center Director
Jenny has over 16 years of experience working with children and families in a child care setting. Jenny grew up in the Bay Area where she attended Skyline College and received her AA degree in Child Development and earned her Early Childhood Education Certificate. After that, Jenny continued her education, earning her Site Supervisor permit as well as her BA in Business Management. Jenny has two children of her own, Luke and Alana. In Jenny’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her son play sports or her daughter practice ballet. Jenny has always wanted to work with children ever since she was a little girl. “I love watching children grow through experiences and creative opportunities. Each child develops differently and it’s extremely rewarding to see children be successful in a positive educational setting.”
Ms. Stacey- Admissions Director
Stacey has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 20 years. She has had the pleasure of working with families and their children in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Rocklin/Roseville area. Stacey pursued a career in the teaching field following high school. She knew early on that making a difference in the lives of children, through education, was her calling. She became a fully qualified teacher, and soon after, a site supervisor. Stacey has two children of her own, James and Izzy. She loves facilitating and observing in our classrooms as children explore, create and learn. She also takes pride is sharing her knowledge and experiences as a mentor for new teachers. “I look forward to celebrating the many milestones that our students will achieve, along with being a support to all the parents who become part of our Growing Brilliant Family!”
Ms. Anna- Brilliant Babies
Hello, my name is Anna. I’m so happy to be spending my day with your little ones. I have been working with children and families most of my adult life, caring for infants through teaching high school. I have a B.A. in English from Chico State and two years of Sign Language and Deaf Studies. My years in behavioral research gave me opportunities to study human development in depth, working with young mothers and their babies. I look forward to all the playing and learning we’ll be doing here together at Growing Brilliant.
Ms. Katlynn- Brilliant Babies
Hello, my name is Katlynn. I have always loved working with children since I was young. I first started out babysitting for families in my neighborhood and I really loved watching the children learn and develop unique personalities. After several years of babysitting, I became a nanny for one of my neighbors who had four little girls. That was such a great experience! I enjoyed being a part of their lives, and watching them grow up right before my eyes! I am currently in my last semester at Sierra College and will be done in December 2015. I will graduate in Spring of 2016 with an AA in Early Childhood Education. In my spare time, it is very important for me to spend time with my family and closest friends. I also love visiting the ocean any chance I get! I enjoy sharing my days with the babies at Growing Brilliant! I am honored to have the opportunity to help them learn and grow!
Ms. Tianah- Brilliant Babies
Hello, my name is Tianah! My mom is an elementary school teacher, so I have grown up valuing education. After becoming a mother myself, I was inspired to dedicate my life to educating young children. I began the process by completing my ECE certificate at American River College and plan on earning my bachelor’s degree. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work alongside Growing Brilliant’s amazing staff & children each and every day!
Ms. Kianni- Early Explorers I
Hi, I’m Kianni. I am a teacher in the Early Explorers room and I absolutely love spending my days with young children. I am amazed every day at how bright, curious, and excited children are about exploring the world! I grew up in Orange County and moved to Sacramento last year after graduating from Chico State University with my BA in child development and psychology. I am currently attending Sacramento State University and working towards receiving my master’s in education and child development. In my free time I love hiking, gardening, and spending time by the river. I am so passionate about working with children and I love being a part of the Growing Brilliant team!
Ms. Courtney- Early Explorers I
My name is Courtney and I have worked with children for over 10 years and have enjoyed every minute. I’ve worked with every age from preschool to middle school. I currently with work in the Early Explorers classroom, we are on the go all the time! I love how much independence the children are learning at this age. I really do love all the hands-on learning we get to do in the classroom on a daily basis. This group is at such a fun age, you really get to start seeing each child’s personality and individuality come out. I am originally from LA and moved to Sacramento in 2010. I have my B.A. in psychology from Cal State University, Northridge. In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors, baking, doing crafts, and hanging out with friends. I am also a runner. I run every day and even compete in races!
Ms. Rachel- Early Explorers I
Hello, my name is Rachel and I have my associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development. I am currently working on my BA degree in Early Childhood Development. I have been working with children for five years. I have worked both in the preschool setting and I have also been a private nanny. When I am not working, I love to play volleyball and spend time with my friends and family. I love hiking and being in the great outdoors!
Ms. Veronica- Early Explorers II
Hello! My name is Veronica. I have been working with children for 10 years. I worked in an in-home daycare for 5 years. I recently moved from Monterey where I worked for 2 years in an infant/toddler program. I love being a team member at Growing Brilliant and working with the Early Explorers! I am excited to have the opportunity to make strong connections with the children and staff. When I am not teaching, I love the outdoors and sports. I love being with family and friends. I’m look forward to sharing my days with your little ones!
Ms. Jamie- Early Explorers II
Hi, my name is Jamie. I’ve been teaching children for 13 years. I received an Associate’s Degree in Social Science, Liberal Arts and General Education in 2006. I’ve worked in both the private and non-profit sector with children from infants to eighth grade. The Early Explorers group is so fun! They’re walking, talking, and so curious! Other things that make me happy include: beagles, painting, chickens (we have chickens here! WOOHOO!) hiking, and music. I’m excited to be on the Growing Brilliant Team and I look forward to building relationships in this community.
Ms. Sarah- Little Learners I
Hello, I’m Sarah! I am currently attending Sierra College, majoring in Early Childhood Education. I have a passion for working with young children. I have quite a few years of early childhood experience from babysitting to teaching in the preschool setting. I am enjoying my days at Growing Brilliant where I am gaining more experience and knowledge. I love being able to implement new ideas from my ECE classes into our classroom. It’s such an amazing experience to be able to mold young minds, and be able to share in the learning process as the children reaching their developmental milestones. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, and traveling.
Ms. Danelle- Little Learners I
Hello, my name is Danelle and I have ten years of early childhood experience. I started out working for a private in-home care center and then later became an assistant teacher at a preschool. I worked my way up to becoming a teacher at a creative arts center for school age children.
I live in Placerville and earned a Bachelor’s of Theatre Arts degree from California State University Sacramento. I have since then returned to school to further my education in early childhood and continue to take classes to this day. I have a passion for the arts and education. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crafting, and costume design. I find that there is nothing more rewarding than being able to facilitate a child’s growth and learning. I am very excited to be a part of the Growing Brilliant team!
Ms. Jennifer- Little Learners II
Hello, my name is Jennifer! I have been teaching preschoolers for the last ten years and have enjoyed every moment of my lifelong dream. I have an Associate in Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. I believe children should have many experiences while learning. I help them use all five senses and have fun while exploring and learning about the world around them! When I’m not teaching little ones, I enjoy camping, outdoor activities, going to family and friend’s events, and taking care of my home and our many plants. I’m excited to be a part of the Growing Brilliant family and I look forward to watching your children learn and grow!
Ms. Katrina- Little Learners II
Hello, I’m Ms. Katrina. My career with children began in high school where I took Child Development and R.O.P. classes. It was there that I learned to love the little minds and creative curiosity of preschool students. I went on to Sierra College and obtained my Associates Teacher Permit, where I fell in love with implementing curriculum in play based ways. I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to partner with Growing Brilliant as together we collaborate to form a lasting impact on each child and family’s life.
The best part about being a teacher is the gift of seeing my students grow. I encourage my students to explore and see with a new perspective; through this, we witness constant progress in both personal and academic development.
When I’m not at work I enjoy hiking, karaoke, spending time with friends, and traveling. My life’s motto is “dream big and expect the unexpected.” Let’s all reach for the stars!
Ms. Jen- Kindergarten Readiness I
Hello, my name is Jen and I grew up in Grass Valley, CA. I have 2 growing boys and we love to spend our free time outdoors, exploring and pushing ourselves to new limits!
I always knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher. When I got the opportunity to intern at a preschool through ROP my junior year of high school, I fell in love with the field. I moved to Reno, NV for 4 years to study Early Childhood Education and Child Psychology. I have been working in Early Childhood Education for about 12 years now.
I love watching the children learn through play and exploration. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a young mind achieve a sense of self-confidence through experience. I enjoy being a part of the Growing Brilliant family and look forward to all the fun and learning we will do together!
Ms. Nicole- Kindergarten Readiness I
Hello, my name is Nicole and grew up in Sonoma County! I reside in Northern Sacramento and have been here for a couple of years now. In my spare time, I enjoy spending my time with friends and family. I love the outdoors, staying in shape, and eating as healthy as I can.
I have been working with children for 13 years. I have experience with children of all ages, from infancy to school age. It was always been a dream of mine to work with children, and in fact, I grew up with educators. I have previously gone to school for early childhood education and I will be going back to further my education. I am excited to further my experience and grow as a teacher here at Growing Brilliant!
Ms. April- Kindergarten Readiness II (Transitional Kindergarten)
Hi, I’m Ms. April! I’ve been working with children for over ten years. I moved to the Sacramento area from Monterey. I am excited to be working here at Growing Brilliant with the Kindergarten Readiness class. I enjoy watching children learn and love being able to teach them new things. I love that I am able to prepare the little ones for Kindergarten!
Ms. Martha- Private Kindergarten
Hi, my name is Martha and I joined the excellent staff at Growing Brilliant Roseville in April of 2016. I have been working with children for over 30 years and plan to continue as long as I can. I have an AA in Child Development, a BA in Liberal Arts and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential for grades K-12. I have worked in Day Cares, Preschools, and the Public School system. I have 3 daughters and 3 grand-daughters of my own. In my last position, I taught 2nd grade for 13 years with Stockton’s Unified School District. After retiring from teaching in Stockton, I have been volunteering in my friend’s kindergarten/first-grade classroom whenever possible. I love working with children! I admire their open, inquisitive minds. I appreciate their unique ways in which they explore their world, with all the curiosity and individual manners that they use to solve problems. I love witnessing that moment when they understand an idea or concept. I am honored to be teaching kindergarten here at Growing Brilliant!
Ms. Deanna- School Age Teacher
Hello, my name is Ms. Deanna. I have worked in the field of education for 10 years. I grew up in Sacramento where I graduated from California State University of Sacramento earning my BA in Child Development and minoring in Counseling. I focused my studies on early learning and development with children. During my spare time I enjoy running, hiking and spending time outdoors with my family. I have always wanted to work with children and enjoy helping them learn and grow. I look forward to building relationships with the students and families at Growing Brilliant! Preschool Academy!
Ms. Beth- Floating Teacher
Hi, my name is Beth! I am excited to be teaching here at Growing Brilliant. I’ve been teaching preschool for many years here in the Sacramento Area and in Oregon. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Administration from California State University, Sacramento, and continue to further my education in Child Development. I love teaching children of all ages! I enjoy their curiosity and new found independence! I recently became a mom. I love spending time with my husband and son, Cody, on my days off. I’m looking forward to building relationships with the children and families at Growing Brilliant!

Hello, my name is Amber. I have been working with children, infant through sixth grade, for ten years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development from Sacramento State, as well as a minor degree in counseling. I love working with young children because it is very rewarding to see their little faces light up when they learn something new. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I like doing outdoor activities too. I am so glad that I am able to be a part of the wonderful team of teachers here at Growing Brilliant!
