The teachers at our Roseville preschool are caring and dedicated to the children in their care, because they love what they do! They are experienced early childhood educators who are well-versed in early developmental theory, techniques, and practices. Our Roseville teachers are educated with state standards and use that knowledge to design unique, creative and fun activities in each classroom.

Zach & Lisa Hansen- Owners
Zach and Lisa Hansen, started Growing Brilliant in 2013 with their Rocklin location. Lisa is a credentialed elementary school teacher and also has experience as a preschool teacher and reading specialist. Lisa holds a master’s degree in education and is currently working on her doctoral dissertation at the University of San Francisco. Through her research, Lisa has learned that early experiences are directly linked to academic achievement later in life. She has a passion for early childhood development and believes in promoting lifelong learning.
Zach graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a degree in business and marketing. His main focus is on the operations side of our schools. This allows Lisa to focus on creating exceptional classroom experiences and curriculum with our amazing staff!

Ms. Jenny- Center Director
Jenny has over 16 years of experience working with children and families in a child care setting. Jenny grew up in the Bay Area where she attended Skyline College and received her AA degree in Child Development and earned her Early Childhood Education Certificate. After that, Jenny continued her education, earning her Site Supervisor permit as well as her BA in Business Management. Jenny has two children of her own, Luke and Alana. In Jenny’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her son play sports or her daughter practice ballet. Jenny has always wanted to work with children ever since she was a little girl. “I love watching children grow through experiences and creative opportunities. Each child develops differently and it’s extremely rewarding to see children be successful in a positive educational setting.”

Ms. Stacey- Admissions Director
Stacey has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 20 years. She has had the pleasure of working with families and their children in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Rocklin/Roseville area. Stacey pursued a career in the teaching field following high school. She knew early on that making a difference in the lives of children, through education, was her calling. She became a fully qualified teacher, and soon after, a site supervisor.
Stacey has two children of her own, James and Izzy. She loves facilitating and observing in our classrooms as children explore, create and learn. She also takes pride in sharing her knowledge and experiences as a mentor for new teachers. “I look forward to celebrating the many milestones that our students will achieve, along with being a support to all the parents who become part of our Growing Brilliant Family!”
Ms. Anna- Brilliant Babies
Hello, my name is Anna. I’m so happy to be spending my day with your little ones. I have been working with children and families most of my adult life, caring for infants through teaching high school. I have a B.A. in English from Chico State and two years of Sign Language and Deaf Studies. My years in behavioral research gave me opportunities to study human development in depth, working with young mothers and their babies. I look forward to all the playing and learning we’ll be doing here together at Growing Brilliant.
Ms. Katlynn- Brilliant Babies
Hello, my name is Katlynn. I have always loved working with children since I was young. I first started out babysitting for families in my neighborhood and I really loved watching the children learn and develop unique personalities. After several years of babysitting, I became a nanny for one of my neighbors who had four little girls. That was such a great experience! I enjoyed being a part of their lives, and watching them grow up right before my eyes! I am currently in my last semester at Sierra College and will be done in December 2015. I will graduate in Spring of 2016 with an AA in Early Childhood Education.
In my spare time, it is very important for me to spend time with my family and closest friends. I also love visiting the ocean any chance I get! I enjoy sharing my days with the babies at Growing Brilliant! I am honored to have the opportunity to help them learn and grow!
Ms. Christina- Brilliant Babies
Hello, I’m Ms. Christina. I’ve been working with children for nearly 30 years. I started babysitting, teaching Sunday School, and tutoring when I was in the 5th grade. Following High School, I nannied in Sacramento, New Jersey, Japan, and Hawaii. I loved these jobs so much that I decided to pursue my passion by studying early childhood education. Since then I have worked in several different schools, and with children ages 6 weeks through 6th grade. My favorite age group is 6 weeks – 24 months. I love seeing the world through the eyes of someone who is experiencing everything for the first time!
When I’m not teaching I love to spending time with my three kids. My two younger children are very involved in Taekwondo, and I spend quite a bit of time watching them. I also enjoy reading, photography, crochet, and sewing whenever I get the chance.

Ms. Jamie- Early Explorers I
Hi, my name is Jamie. I’ve been teaching children for 13 years. I received an Associate’s Degree in Social Science, Liberal Arts and General Education in 2006. I’ve worked in both the private and non-profit sector with children from infants to eighth grade. The Early Explorers group is so fun! They’re walking, talking, and so curious! Other things that make me happy
Other things that make me happy include beagles, painting, chickens (we have chickens here! WOOHOO!) hiking, and music. I’m excited to be on the Growing Brilliant Team and I look forward to building relationships in this community.
Ms. Chastity- Early Explorers I
Hello, my name is Chastity. This is my first time working with children professionally and I’m very excited to be a part of Growing Brilliant! I just recently graduated from Sierra College with three Associate’s degrees in Early Childhood Education, as a Master Teacher, and as a Site Supervisor. I am currently working my way towards attending Sacramento state to enter their communication science and behavior program. My end goal is to be a speech pathologist.
I have always loved the idea of working with children. The idea that I can help our future grow puts a smile on my face every day. In my free time, I love reading, listening to music, and watching movies, as well as drawing and writing.
Ms. Nicole- Early Explorers I
Hello, my name is Nicole and grew up in Sonoma County! I reside in Northern Sacramento and have been here for a couple of years now. In my spare time, I enjoy spending my time with friends and family. I love the outdoors, staying in shape, and eating as healthy as I can.
I have been working with children for 13 years. I have experience with children of all ages, from infancy to school age. It was always been a dream of mine to work with children, and in fact, I grew up with educators. I have previously gone to school for early childhood education and I will be going back to further my education. I am excited to further my experience and grow as a teacher here at Growing Brilliant!
Ms. Veronica- Little Learners I
Hello! My name is Veronica. I have been working with children for 10 years. I worked at an in-home daycare for 5 years. I recently moved from Monterey where I worked for 2 years in an infant/toddler program. I love being a team member at Growing Brilliant and working with the Little Learners group! I am excited to have the opportunity to make strong connections with the children and staff.
When I am not teaching, I love the outdoors and sports. I love being with family and friends. I’m looking forward to sharing my days with your little ones!
Ms. Christen- Little Learners I
Hello, my name is Christen. I am very excited to be a part of the Growing Brilliant team. I recently moved from Visalia to Sacramento after graduating from California State University, Fresno. While attending CSU Fresno I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders and Speech-Language Pathology. While completing my course work I had the opportunity to work with children in a school setting and quickly discovered how exciting it is to be a part of a child’s learning experience.
I am excited to be working with the children at Growing Brilliant. We have a great team that is helping to create a bright future for our kiddos.
Ms. Sarah- Little Learners I
Hello, I’m Sarah! I am currently attending Sierra College, majoring in Early Childhood Education. I have a passion for working with young children. I have quite a few years of early childhood experience from babysitting to teaching in the preschool setting. I am enjoying my days at Growing Brilliant where I am gaining more experience and knowledge. I love being able to implement new ideas from my ECE classes into our classroom. It’s such an amazing experience to be able to mold young minds and be able to share in the learning process as the children reaching their developmental milestones.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, and traveling.
Ms. Danelle- Little Learners I
Hello, my name is Danelle and I have ten years of early childhood experience. I started out working for a private in-home care center and then later became an assistant teacher at a preschool. I worked my way up to becoming a teacher at a creative arts center for school age children.
I live in Placerville and earned a Bachelor’s of Theatre Arts degree from California State University Sacramento. I have since then returned to school to further my education in early childhood and continue to take classes to this day. I have a passion for the arts and education. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crafting, and costume design. I find that there is nothing more rewarding than being able to facilitate a child’s growth and learning. I am very excited to be a part of the Growing Brilliant team!
Ms. Katrina- Little Learners II
Hello, I’m Ms. Katrina. My career with children began in high school where I took Child Development and R.O.P. classes. It was there that I learned to love the little minds and creative curiosity of preschool students. I went on to Sierra College and obtained my Associates Teacher Permit, where I fell in love with implementing curriculum in play based ways. I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to partner with Growing Brilliant as together we collaborate to form a lasting impact on each child and family’s life.
The best part about being a teacher is the gift of seeing my students grow. I encourage my students to explore and see with a new perspective; through this, we witness constant progress in both personal and academic development.
When I’m not at work I enjoy hiking, karaoke, spending time with friends, and traveling. My life’s motto is “dream big and expect the unexpected.” Let’s all reach for the stars!
Ms. Raquel- Little Learners II
Hi, my name is Raquel, and I absolutely love being around children. I started out babysitting, then after many years of being a nanny long term with a few families, I started teaching. I enjoy teaching and plan to stay in this field for a very long time! I have a B.A. degree in Deaf Studies and a minor in Teaching. Currently, I am working towards getting my multiple subject teaching credential as well as a Master’s degree in Special Education.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my boyfriend, family, and friends. Also, I enjoy yoga, hiking, and camping. I can’t wait to spend the day with your little one!
Ms. Jen- Kindergarten Readiness I
Hello, my name is Jen and I grew up in Grass Valley, CA. I have 2 growing boys and we love to spend our free time outdoors, exploring and pushing ourselves to new limits!
I always knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a teacher. When I got the opportunity to intern at a preschool through ROP my junior year of high school, I fell in love with the field. I moved to Reno, NV for 4 years to study Early Childhood Education and Child Psychology. I have been working in Early Childhood Education for about 12 years now.
I love watching the children learn through play and exploration. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a young mind achieve a sense of self-confidence through experience. I enjoy being a part of the Growing Brilliant family and look forward to all the fun and learning we will do together!
Ms. Rachel- Kindergarten Readiness I
Hello, my name is Rachel and I have my associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development. I am also currently working on my BA degree in Early Childhood Development. I have been working with children for five years. I have worked both in the preschool setting and I have also been a private nanny.
When I am not working, I love to play volleyball and spend time with my friends and family. I love hiking and being in the great outdoors!
Ms. April- Kindergarten Readiness II (Transitional Kindergarten)
Hi, I’m Ms. April! I’ve been working with children for over ten years. I moved to the Sacramento area from Monterey. I am excited to be working here at Growing Brilliant with the Kindergarten Readiness class. I enjoy watching children learn and love being able to teach them new things. I love that I am able to prepare the little ones for Kindergarten!
Ms. Tamara- Kindergarten Readiness II (Transitional Kindergarten)
Hi, my name is Tamara! I am super excited to be a part of the Growing Brilliant team. I attended Sac State and American River College. I am currently working toward my AA degree in Early Childhood Education. I discovered my love for teaching after having my first child. That experience prompted me to take my first child development class and I became fascinated with the field. I have worked in the early childhood education field for six years and I’ve learned so much from all my students!
I am very excited to meet your children and assist them in becoming strong and confident young adults! When I’m not teaching, I spend time with my husband, three children, and two dogs. I love Science Fiction and comic books. I look forward to creating wonderful bonds with your children!
Ms. Deanna- School Age Teacher
Hello, my name is Ms. Deanna. I have worked in the field of education for 10 years. I grew up in Sacramento where I graduated from California State University of Sacramento earning my BA in Child Development and minoring in Counseling. I focused my studies on early learning and development with children. During my spare time, I enjoy running, hiking and spending time outdoors with my family. I have always wanted to work with children and enjoy helping them learn and grow. I look forward to building relationships with the students and families at Growing Brilliant! Preschool Academy!
Mr. Mathieu- School Age Teacher
Hello, my name is Mathieu and I’m so excited to be a part of Growing Brilliant! I love working with children of all ages and watching them grow. I graduated from Sacramento State with a bachelor’s degree in child development. I have worked in the childcare setting for several years now. Some of my future aspirations include becoming either a PE teacher or soccer coach.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, going to the gym, and sports. I am very active and enjoy sharing my love for sports with the children I teach.
Ms. Jennifer- Floating Teacher
Hello, my name is Jennifer! I have been teaching preschoolers for the last ten years and have enjoyed every moment of my lifelong dream. I have an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. I believe children should have many experiences while learning. I help them use all five senses and have fun while exploring and learning about the world around them! When I’m not teaching little ones, I enjoy camping, outdoor activities, going to family and friend’s events, and taking care of my home and our many plants. I’m excited to be a part of the Growing Brilliant family and I look forward to watching your children learn and grow!
Ms. Amber- Floating Teacher
Hello, my name is Amber. I have been working with children, infant through sixth grade, for ten years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development from Sacramento State, as well as a minor degree in counseling. I love working with young children because it is very rewarding to see their little faces light up when they learn something new. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I like doing outdoor activities too. I am so glad that I am able to be a part of the wonderful team of teachers here at Growing Brilliant!
